Shopping with Self Essentials, Inc. is safe and secure. We use PayPal and Authorize.Net as our means of verification and payment system. Your credit card information is processed directly through their secure servers. This means we can never store your private information on our site. It is therefore impossible for hackers to retrieve your credit card or personal information from our website. We will never share your personal information with third parties!
How long will it take to process my order?
All soy candles are made fresh to order. Please allow 5-7 business days for the shipment of your order. 7-10 business days during the busy holiday season (October-December). Processing time excludes Saturdays and Sundays.
What method of shipment do you use?
Orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail and UPS to any destination within the United States. Flat Rate Shipping is utilized when possible. USPS International Priority Mail is used to ship international orders. International orders weighing up to 20 lbs. can be shipped to Canada and Mexico for $23.95. International shipping charges for all other countries is $38.95. A tracking number will be emailed to you at the time of shipment.
Do you provide wholesale or drop shipping?
Self Essentials does not provide drop shipping. We're currently not accepting wholesale applications at this time. We're giving ourselves a year to focus solely on our retail business and marketing. May I ship my order as a gift for someone?
Absolutely! We will ship your order directly to the recipient. Fill in the recipient's name and mailing address during the checkout process. We will attach a gift card with your name and the message you provide us.
What is your return policy?
Customer satisfaction is very important to us. We recommend that you order small items to sample scents before committing to a large order. We will not accept returns due to the dislike of fragrance or color.
Exchanges are considered on a case by case basis. We offer a replacement on items that are damaged or defected due to Self Essentials, Inc. or shipping carrier. We will ship a new product of the same fragrance at no additional cost. Receipt of damaged items must be reported within 48 hours of receiving your order.
Shipping fees are non refundable. Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the purchaser. Exchanges should be sent to Self Essentials, Inc. 1173 East 15th Street Brooklyn, NY 11230 within fourteen business days of invoice date for an exchange. All exchanges must be approved.
Do you accept international orders?
Yes. International orders weighing up to 20 lbs. are shipped via USPS International Priority Mail to Canada and Mexico for $23.95. International shipping charges to all other countris is $38.95.
All international orders must be paid via a PayPal account. We will not accept credit card payments for international orders due to the fraudulant use of credit cards.
We are unable to accept returns for merchandise from our international customers.
Self Essentials is not responsible for any duties, taxes or other associated import fees that your country may impose. These additional costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
Any country can hold your order at the border for reasons that involve a parcel search, product quarantine, or items within the parcel may cause some concern for officials. Self Essentials is not responsible for orders that are held up at the border by officials. This must be resolved by you and your local postal authorities.
In the event that your country's inspection agency quarantines, disposes or otherwise discards material which is not allowed into your country, this will become the sole responsibility of the buyer. Self Essentials will not issue a replacement nor refund for your order. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know what is allowed into their respective country and what is not.

What are soy wax candles?
Soy wax candles are made from all-natural hydrogenated soybean oil. An earth-friendly alternative to paraffin candles, and cheaper than beeswax candles, soy wax candles enable you to enjoy affordable, top-quality candles that protect the environment.
How are soy wax candles different from paraffin candles?
Soy wax candles are safer and burn cleaner than paraffin candles because soy wax candles are non-toxic and are made from all-natural soybeans, a renewable resource grown by American farmers. Paraffin wax is a derivative of petroleum that emitts 11 toxins and two carcinogens when burned. Soy wax candles produce none of the harmful carbons and black soot emissions of paraffin wax. Soy wax candles burn cooler and longer than paraffin candles, and release fragrances naturally and longer than paraffin wax.
Where does soy wax come from?
American farmers grow the soybeans that is used to make soy wax.
Do your candle wicks contain lead?
No. Our wicks are 100% cotton.
What is the difference between your candles and companies that produce “soy blend” candles?
There are candle companies that advertise their candles as “soy candles” even though they are “blended” with paraffin wax. We urge you to read the product label, and ask if your candles are a “blend.” Self Essentials' soy candles are made from 100% all natural waxes, which are soy and vegetable waxes. Our soy candles are eco-friendly, hand-crafted and biodegradable.
