Candle Burning Instructions

Information for Container Candles

1. Handle with care, as container may become hot.

2. Avoid glass-to-glass contact when removing or replacing lid. Do not use if cracked, chipped, or scratched and Do not refill with wax.

3. Burn your candle for 3-4 hours initially in order to create the proper melt pool.

4. Never allow the flame to come in direct contact with the side of the container. Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" and centered: reposition as needed by quickly moving wick back to center with a metal spoon handle. Avoid drafts or excessive vibrations. Caution: Extinguish the flame before trimming the wick.

5. Wax and water don't mix. If a candle is exposed to moisture, it may not re-light. Water that becomes overheated and trapped by wax can cause an explosive spattering of hot wax. Don't leave uncovered candles outdoors overnight.

 Information for Votive Candles

1. Caution: Remove the label on the bottom of the candle prior to using.

2. Votive candles are designed to liquefy while burning and must be used in an appropriate sized container. The inside of the container should be of similar size to the votive candle. Too wide of a container will leave the liquid wax too far from the flame and excess wax will remain. Our votive candles are manufactured to consume completely. If burned free-standing, votives will drip.

3. Add 1/8" of water to container to lessen breakage and make container easier to clean.

4. Always remove metal tabs or clips from the bottom of the container before adding another candle.

5. Keep the wick centered for even consumption of the wax. This will also prevent possible heat damage to the container.

6. Keep the wax pool free of foreign matter that might cause a fire hazard.

7. If the flame seems too small and is "drowning" in the wax, extinguish it and use a potholder to pick up the votive glass to pour the excess liquid into a lined wastebasket.

Information for Pillar Candles

1. Always burn pillars placed on an appropriate holder, and also on a protected, non-combustible, heat-resistant surface.

2. Our Pillar candles are designed to burn clean and evenly. If burned properly, the candle should self consume. We recommend you burn the candle on the initial lighting for a minimum of 3 hours, and then 3-4 hours at a time thereafter. This process allows for an accumulation of heat to melt across the breadth of the candle and provide even burning throughout the life of the candle. If the sides of the pillar candle becomes too hot, extinguish the flame and allow it to cool and reset.

3. A grouping of burning pillars creates a stunning effect, especially when displayed in a fireplace or on the mantlepiece.
